2. Ad ons.

I’ve decided I want to add a selfcare routine to this project. I need to be better at looking after myself in all aspects.

After spending yesterday afternoon doing my make up, I needed to take it off and clean my face. This led to a full face routine, which is something I don’t do. I usually moisturize regularly, and occasionally do face masks, but I’m not great at doing them. I also feel that I should be doing more.


Last night consisted of “gently” scrubbing off my makeup, using a face scrub, a sheet mask, moisturizing and a gentle face massage with those fancy ass crystal roller things.

The face scrub, which I have used before, caused some serious irritation on my cheeks. Sometimes it’s a little aggressive, but I thought this would be good for getting all the crap out of my pores. It might have, but it was uncomfortable. So much so, that I had my sheet mask on for all of 3 minuets because I need to sooth my skin. The packet said 15 minutes, but I just couldn’t do it. So, I took it off, massaged the oils in a little, patted dry then did my moisturizer.

Anyway, all of this to say I have no idea what I’m doing and will be spending a few days looking into better skin care routines. As for the meantime, I’ll do a wash, mask, moisturize and massage every day. I have even set an alarm to encourage myself.

On another note, I’m back on my little self-help books. Specifically, they are a series sold at Kmart called “(self-help topic) 150 little ways to make a big change”. I bought one because I thought it’d be the best way for me to do something like this. They are short little tasks, quotes and the like relating to the main subject. I could sit down and read them in a day, but I choose to read them over an extended period and add sticky notes to things I think would be helpful.
This is not a promotion; I just want to express my gratitude for them. They make me feel calm and have a lot of helpful tips. I’m on selfcare at the moment and I feel like it fits pretty well with what I’m trying to do.

 

And lastly, today’s goals.

As mentioned before, I’m aiming for a skin care routine. I’ve also added 30 minutes of reading each day to the list. We are aiming for 10 minutes on the elliptical as well as a core focused work out.

I woke up feeling pretty crappy this morning. The night before was not a night for sleeping. I’ve been having some issues with my stomach which kept me uncomfortable and awake for a lot of the night. However, after doing my morning routine, tea, medication & vitamins I started feeling better and am currently at a point where I feel mostly productive.
My fingers are crossed for myself to get shit done today! Either way, time will tell.
